Common/Wealth Collective
In 2025, we brought together a group of working-class young artists in Bradford, to connect, explore new skills and develop their practice.
The Collective includes musicians, dancers, spoken word artists, actors and more! Members don’t need formal training or professional experience – just tons of fresh ideas, strong opinions, an interest in politics and an appetite for creative collaboration.
We provide Collective members with workshops, events, opportunities and rehearsal space for free, along with access to auditions, paid freelance work, and the chance to be part of research and development processes.
Workshops have included a directing masterclass with Emily Lim, the director of the Bradford 2025 closing ceremony Brighter Still and a class with dancer Mayowa Ogunnaike, exploring communicating emotion through movement.
Collective members also visited Leeds Playhouse for EXXY a show by queer, disabled, working-class dance artist Dan Daw, and got the chance to perform themselves in Dark Night – a Cabaret by Eggs Collective.
