How to Build A Town
What if you could build the future of our neighbourhood?
How To Build A Town looked at what needs to change and how communities can be central to shaping the places we live for future generations. Participants had the opportunity to be part of a performance based conversation which will influence decision making in Cardiff. Their voices made a difference and will have an impact on the future of St Mellons.
How to Build a Town brought together residents, people who work in the area, the council, and other decision-makers, to explore the change that needs to be made and the community’s future needs.
It included conversations, eating together, and sharing monologues and poetry created from testimonies of the people of St.Mellons, written by Patrick Jones.
How to Build a Town was part of a project looking at Cardiff City Council’s Local Development Plan. We worked in collaboration with Cardiff University, ACE, Grange Pavilion and Splott Volunteers to build on and ensure representation in the LDP of the Southern Arc.
